Iceland: Story of Ancient Era

Mid Spring, 2015. Gelatin silver prints.

Andri Snaer Magnason, one of Iceland’s more noteworthy novelists once said:
“In Iceland there are no ruins, no Viking ships to prove how we got here, so people think we evolved from cod”.

Iceland was formed from volcanic eruptions on the Mid-Atlantic ridge about 24 million years, geologically is very young and in a very real sense it can be said to be still in the making.

The pictures explore the dramatic landscapes and the spectacular scenary of this remote island, giving us a perception of how could have been the “beginning”.
