In the series ‘Checkers. What goes up?’ private and external events converge on the surface of the image itself through a play of illusions and transparencies to tell the story of the escape from the limiting reality in which we are imprisoned and confined every day.

Checkers is a metaphor for our lives and, by their very nature, the pawns in checkers, humans, are forced to move within certain limits according to pre-established rules, often imposed or self-imposed.

In the story, photography is not only the medium that creates a perceived reality but, through its material physicality, that is, the analogue black and white photogram, it becomes the tangible tool that helps us to cross the boundaries of the queen, creating an ideal gateway to a new world and a new consciousness of being.

Broadening our gaze and expanding our knowledge to investigate our role in the world and seek our true identity as human beings.

Visible y móvil, mi cuerpo se cuenta entre las cosas, es una de ellas, está prendido en el tejido del mundo, y su cohesión es la de una cosa. Pero, puesto que ve y se mueve, tiene a las cosas en círculo en torno a sí, ellas son un anexo o una prolongación de él, están incrustadas en su carne, forman parte de su definición plena, y el mundo está hecho de la pasta misma del cuerpo.

Individuality se origina en un tiempo de encierro, en que pasé un largo periodo en casa por problemas físicos.
Se compone de una serie de autorretratos tomados en las habitaciones de mi apartamento. En estos espacios íntimos, la luz penetra dulce, fuerte, revelando un cuerpo de mujer que se multiplica y abandona a un viaje de búsqueda, profundo y secreto. El cuerpo deja de ser cuerpo para aliviarse y gestarse en su interioridad.
Los acontecimientos de las instantáneas no son verdad, no son mentira, nacen de una lógica difusa, frágiles pensamientos como focos, como puntos de luz.
